• Design, develop, and deploy 2D games using the Defold engine, prioritizing optimal performance and minimal build sizes.
• Implement robust gameplay mechanics and systems utilizing Lua scripting within a modular architecture.
• Collaborate closely with designers and artists to rapidly iterate on game prototypes and refine user experience.
• Optimize games for smooth performance across various mobile and web platforms.
• Maintain efficient, well-documented code while adhering to best practices in game development.
• Debug, profile, and resolve performance issues to ensure stable game releases.
• Contribute creative solutions to technical challenges and provide input on gameplay and UI enhancements.

• Proven experience developing and shipping 2D games using the Defold engine.
• Proficiency in Lua scripting and a solid understanding of component-based game architectures.
• Strong track record in producing lightweight, performance-optimized builds for mobile and web.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
• Demonstrated ability to iterate quickly and deliver results in an agile environment.
• Solid understanding of deployment processes for various platforms.
• Attention to detail and a passion for creating engaging user experiences.

• Experience with cross-platform deployment and optimization.

Contract position, fully remote.

$50 - $120 per hour.
