The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill a Chief Operating Officer role in the Houston, TX market. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing written, in-depth, credit analysis for commercial loans. The individual chosen will be responsible for inspiring and engaging staff with exceptional leadership skills.

This position offers a generous salary of up to $200K and a full benefits package.

SVP of Branch/Deposit Operations responsibilities include:

  • Lead the Branch Operations and Operations Support Services functions within the Bank.
  • Collaborating with internal departments to assess, plan, and manage the efficient utilization of financial products and services.
  • Develops, monitors, and executes the organization’s strategic business plan, ensuring alignment with the overall vision and objectives. Partnering with other senior management to develop, evaluate and recommend policies, products, services, and processes that maintain the banks competitive edge and financial viability. Upholding consistent policy adherence, compliance with regulations and overseeing the effective execution of established procedures.
  • Directs and monitors branch operations and support staff, through subordinate managers, to ensure they meet and exceed organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates with management on customer/product profitability initiatives and rate stratification.
  • Prepares reports of operations and participates in planning and budgeting process.
  • Collaborates with product development/enhancement initiatives.
  • Developing branch financial and service delivery performance goals and objectives and monitors results. Overseeing branch administration and operations and establishing policies and procedures that drive efficient operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Controls and reports branch losses and oversees branch regulatory compliance.
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to support and develop managers and staff.
  • Identify personnel needs within each branch, and coordinate with HR for job openings, internal postings, and external ads as needed.
  • Staying abreast of current trends affecting the financial services industry, having an overall knowledge of the bank, its policies and procedures and continually expanding knowledge and developing skills.
  • Performs other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience.
  • 10 + years of branch leadership experience in a financial institution
  • Fiserv experience will be crucial to your success.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial service industry products, operations, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations as they apply to financial institutions.
  • Competencies should include technical skills, communication proficiency, customer-focused presentation skills, business acumen, personal credibility, project management,
  • leadership, and management skills.
