Our innovative Transdisciplinary Model fosters collaboration among teachers and therapists, ensuring a holistic learning experience with the priority of increasing each students ability to communicate through Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Located within the Office of Health & Wellness, the Physical Education Team oversees all BPS Aquatics swim instruction programs for student participation in both high school and elementary-level, non-competitive aquatic activities. BPS Physical Education programs provide all students, regardless of race, gender, or ethnicity, opportunities to develop physically, mentally, and emotionally in controlled, safe activities both inside and outside of the traditional classroom.
Under general supervision of School leader and support and training from the Offices of Health and Wellness and Facilities the Lifeguard’s primary responsibility includes guarding the pool, ensuring the safety of all students, enforcing the pool rules, maintaining cleanliness and sanitary conditions in and around the pool facility and implementing the emergency protocols as needed.

Terms: School-based managerial lifeguards will work 183 days each year. The 183 day work-year will include the 183 days in which school is in session. School-based managerial employees are not eligible for vacation time or compensatory time. In the event of school cancellation due to snow or inclement weather, school-based managerial employees need not report to work.
Salary: $46,301
