Under the general direction of a Supervisor I, the incumbent provides budgetary and administrative support to Administration District 22 to ensure and facilitate completed staff work on budgetary issues and policy matters of critical concern. In this capacity, the incumbent independently researches, analyzes, and monitors the allocation and management of each division’s budget in Administration and provides recommendations to management including reports that document the status of their fiscal situation and trend analysis. Other tasks include analyzing, reviewing, and evaluating budget documentation; making recommendations to ensure that the Administration program continues on the proper course; and taking a proactive role in correcting discrepancies.

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans’s evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
While at their assigned office location, employee will work in a climate-controlled office under artificial lighting. The incumbent will occasionally take transportation or walk to other State facilities to attend meetings or training outside the office in a variety of weather conditions.
